My work reflects the ever changing light and colour of the Cornish coastline - exploring the colours from our skies and seas.

About

I live and work from my home in Perranporth. I graduated with a BA honours degree in fine art from the Surrey Institute of art and design in 2000 ,moving to Cornwall in 2004.

I have always been drawn to the coast. It’s my love of the sea - immersing myself in the ocean looking out to the horizon, studying how the light interacts with the ocean creating reflections on the water and transforming the mood of the scene.

My work reflects this ever changing light and colour of the Cornish coastline watching the skyline partner the water and the colours that intwine in reflections, bringing warmth from the sun into the depths of our immense ocean, exploring the colours from our skies and seas.

Reflecting this by building layers of paint and simplifying the environment to leave space to emphasise the natural light and colour of which we are so lucky to have an abundance across the Cornish coastline.

The process is intuitive and reflective, allowing the natural surroundings to guide my hand in a mix of painting and print making techniques.
